The one and only way to improve golf swing is to practice the drills. There are so many drills that you have to choose one wisely and also use your time on the greens to the best advantage.

Just striking the ball is not sufficient. You have to assess the force with which you are going to hit the ball corresponding to the distance to the hole. There are other factors also that have to be assessed before a ball is teed off.

While practicing putting, it is better to work with ball markers than with balls as it will help you to concentrate more on the stroke than just sinking the ball. And since the ball is not going to land twice in the same place, practicing putting from different distances is a good idea.

The above golf swing instruction is for the final short game. You have to work on your long game also, where you will have to strike the ball from the teeing area to the green across the fairway. Here the swing is the most important action in the game. This is the action that is going to determine where the ball is going to land. As you walk to the place where the ball landed, think of the short game that lies ahead of you and mentally work on the putting.

The last portion of your practice must be carried out closer to the hole. Try to work on a flat surface and if you can sink 5 or 6 balls consecutively, then you have made your day worthwhile.

Attitude helps when you fail to do exactly what you wanted to do. It will help you to understand your mistake, take corrective action and try again; especially during practice.

For long shots you can go to a driving range.

Constant practice is what professionals, even professionals who have won tournaments, do to keep in touch with the game and also to improve their game. Practice is the only way that can keep them ahead of the competition. If you are a beginner, there is a long way to go before you can get that proper golf swing to kick-start your game.

Listen to what professionals say during interviews and the comments that commentators say during a tournament. Read or listen to critics. This will help you to learn a tip or two to improve your overall game. Even if you cannot put into practice everything that is said or written, try a few and you will surely benefit.

Becoming a professional or a champion is not an overnight affair. Patience and persistence is required. That is the only way to improve golf swing and to attain the proper golf swing. To become a professional and a champion is something every golfer hopes to achieve during his/her lifetime.
