Improve Golf Swing With An Empty Box

Do you still have the cardboard box packing where your golf clubs came in? Good. You do not have to go to a sports store to get any of the golf training aids that they have and that many golfers use to improve golf swing.
First warm up. Hit some fifteen balls with the number 5 or 7 wood or iron. Then you can use your cardboard box for practice in a driving range.
Once warmed up you can set up your training aid by placing the cardboard box towards the target, lengthwise, about 5” or 6” away from the ball. The intention is to strike the ball without hitting the box. In case you do not know how to set it up, get help from someone in the range.
Begin by taking a few practice swings. Swing the club so that it brushes the ground softly. Don’t hit the box. After a few swings, place a ball in front of the box and hit it without hitting the box. In case you do hit the box, reset it to its initial position and try again. Keep your swings slow at first and gradually increase the speed.
When you get to the stage when you can consecutively hit a couple or more balls without hitting the box, decrease the distance by a half-inch. Continue practising, gradually decreasing the distance till the box is only and inch or two away from the ball. Now increase the speed of your swing to the speed that you usually play with.
If you can do it then it means that your swing is within the correct zone. If not, then your swing is on the outside, either before or after the impact and can happen because of two reasons; either you are improperly holding the club or your aim with the clubface is not proper. Whatever the reason, it is best that you consult a professional coach who can watch your swing and correct it.
Once you can unerringly hit the ball without hitting the box, then this training is aid is no longer necessary to improve golf swing. You can practice without it. If you begin to hit outside again, replace the box and try to recollect how you swung the club while practicing.
Other than this simple box, there are also other training aids to help improve golf swing and they come at a cost of some $10.00 to get and use.
The best thing about this kind of training aid is that you do not have to worry if the box gets damaged and get riddled with holes. You can still get another with similar specifications and continue practising. An alternative to the cardboard box would be a soft, long and round foam that is used as a pool toy.
Hand positioning is vital to keep your swing from going to the outside. So is speed. Remember that it is not the inside out or the opposite swing that is the correct swing path. Neither is it going down the straight path. It is an inside to inside movement and you will have to practice till you get the hang of it. But once you get it, then you will have the satisfaction of seeing the ball soar into the air and land close to the hole that you are playing. Use simple training aids and improve golf swing.

The one and only way to improve golf swing is to practice the drills. There are so many drills that you have to choose one wisely and also use your time on the greens to the best advantage.
Just striking the ball is not sufficient. You have to assess the force with which you are going to hit the ball corresponding to the distance to the hole. There are other factors also that have to be assessed before a ball is teed off.
While practicing putting, it is better to work with ball markers than with balls as it will help you to concentrate more on the stroke than just sinking the ball. And since the ball is not going to land twice in the same place, practicing putting from different distances is a good idea.
The above golf swing instruction is for the final short game. You have to work on your long game also, where you will have to strike the ball from the teeing area to the green across the fairway. Here the swing is the most important action in the game. This is the action that is going to determine where the ball is going to land. As you walk to the place where the ball landed, think of the short game that lies ahead of you and mentally work on the putting.
The last portion of your practice must be carried out closer to the hole. Try to work on a flat surface and if you can sink 5 or 6 balls consecutively, then you have made your day worthwhile.
In addition to the physical aspect to improve golf swing, your attitude to the game plays a significant role. It should be a positive one. Attitude helps when you fail to do exactly what you wanted to do. It will help you to understand your mistake, take corrective action and try again; especially during practice.
To help you improve your overall game plan and in the special areas to improve golf swing and in putting, you can get a number of training aids. These training aids can be obtained from any good sports goods store. Ball markers can even be obtained from hardware stores.
Practicing to improve your proper golf swing need not be confined to the golf course only. If you are blessed with house with a large garden, you can segregate a portion of this into a small putting green and practice your putting when you have the time and the inclination to do so. For long shots you can go to a driving range.
Constant practice is what professionals, even professionals who have won tournaments, do to keep in touch with the game and also to improve their game. Practice is the only way that can keep them ahead of the competition. If you are a beginner, there is a long way to go before you can get that proper golf swing to kick-start your game.
Listen to what professionals say during interviews and the comments that commentators say during a tournament. Read or listen to critics. This will help you to learn a tip or two to improve your overall game. Even if you cannot put into practice everything that is said or written, try a few and you will surely benefit.

Golf is a game of skill, with a pinch of luck and a little of chance thrown in. All three should be working together to get a perfect game. It is a sport where either one wins or looses based purely on ones own skill. A sport where everyone starts with the same set of skills. Every golf swing highlights the individuals personal style of play; a marked difference from most other sports.
The style of the golf swing is that particular aspect of the game that differentiates one player from another. This is mainly due to the different type of body, arm length and strength and shoulder width that each player has. The basics of the game are the same for all the players except for the swing. For some, hitting the ball hard enough to make it travel over a distance of some 300 yards is child’s play, for others, a 100 yard shot seems tougher than old boots.
Even though the swing identifies the playing style of an individual golfer, there are ways to improve golf swing to be good enough for a professional tournament. The most important rule to remember is the position of the neck and the head; they should be in the same line as your spine. Most golf coaches will emphasise this point and it is one rule that if followed to the letter, will show immediate results.
The next important thing to keep in mind is the see that your arm fits under your chin when you make the swing so as to keep the alignment true and straight. One common mistake that most beginners make is to tuck their heads into their shoulders to prevent the neck form moving. This hampers the motion of your swing. The arm being forced to go around the chin and affecting the flight of the ball.
To get the maximum benefit of this exercise practice it 25 times in a row, rest for a while and repeat the process. Be consistent in maintaining your body position and the alignment of your neck and your head with the spine. Try to be relaxed and comfortable. Train your body to fall into this position every time you get on a course, by practicing at least for an hour or two. It should be like a conditioned reflex action.
As stated briefly before, relaxation is important for you to get the proper golf swing. Tensing your muscles make you lose your dexterity and you become inflexible. A relaxed swing is the proper golf swing. When your body is tense, there is no free flow of movement from the beginning of backswing your swing to its culmination when it strikes the ball.
Then there is balance. Without proper balance, the force with which you strike the ball is affected, decreasing it and resulting in a lesser travel distance of the ball. Proper balance gives you maximum power and striking force.
These tips should, if properly followed, improve golf swing and your overall game performance. But most of all, practice is the key to a good game of golf.

The media is flooded with ads for golf instructors, advice on golf, golfing schools and self-help material. Wherever you look there seems to be somebody at hand to teach you how to improve golf swing and to get the proper golf swing. Separating The Good From The Bad
Like any other game, repetitive practice is the best method to improve at golf. You also have to use the correct posture. What the best form is, is the tricky part of the whole exercise. Research the credentials of any instructor and find out if he plays a good game. Check to see if he has had a formal education in sports medicine. A golf instructor with no training in sports medicine may recommend some training instructions without realizing the potential dangers involved even though they may mean well.
Managing The Tangibles
For any training exercise to be effective there should be a goal. What is the goal for a golf training activity? It should not be something like “you’ll have better form” or “your game will improve” or any such vague aim. Goals should be measurable. In golf measurable goals could be the distance travelled by the ball, increased ball speed or accuracy in the flight of the shot.
A few of the problems faced by you might be due to the hardware that you are using. Check to see that the club you are using corresponds to your height. See that you are wearing the appropriate shoes for a game of golf and that they fit properly. Even your clothing should be right. Practice in settings that hinder your movements is also a must because you may come across such situations.
Keep Your Attitude Towards The Game Healthy
Golf is a game that requires an attitude. It is also a game with a lot of dependency on the psychology of the player. As such your attitude towards the game has to be improved also. Figure out the kind of personality that you are and what your attitude towards the game is. Develop the mental traits that you need to get a proper golf swing. As this is a major stumbling block for a majority of athletes, there is nothing to be ashamed of.
