A Professional Proper Golf Swing

An ideal way to start a game of golf is to start it with the proper golf swing. By doing so, you will get the ball to land in close proximity to the hole. Then it is a question of putting it.
Technically speaking, the golf swing is nothing but applied physics. The movement of the club during the swing produces a force on the clubface that is transferred to the ball at the moment of impact. This transferred kinetic energy is the energy that carries the ball during its flight. The more the energy, the more the distance travelled.
Professional golfers, with the exception of Tiger Woods, can usually achieve a club head velocity of nearly a hundred miles per hour (mph). Tiger Woods was once clocked at 125 mph.
Another component that is required for a proper golf swing is known as the lie angle. For the uninitiated, the lie angle is that angle between the centre line of the club shaft and the sole or bottom of the club. This is an important factor that has an affect on the accuracy of the shot. Another reason why the lie angle is important is that golfers come in many sizes and unless they have a club with a lie angle fitted to their physique, their shot is not going to be perfect. Most standard off-the-rack clubs have a lie angle of about 12 degrees. It is the belief of one scientist that a 7.5-degree would be optimal for most golfers. Professional golfers have lie angle fitted clubs that suits them.
There are four elements that you have to know to achieve the proper golf swing.
First, at the culmination of the back swing, you should have stretched as far back as possible with your pivoting torso directly above your right leg. This will extend the range of your downswing movement.
At the commencement of your downswing, turn your body quickly with the pressure on your right leg.
Then, use your hips, shoulders and wrists while driving down to complete a smooth club head rotation. This will increase the impact on the ball and consequently its velocity.
The golf swing mentioned in the above paragraphs does not apply to a situation where you are stuck in a sand trap. The sand is blocking your stroke and you have to overcome this resistance. You can accomplish this by striking the sand behind the ball. Use the club head to do it.
Either in the green or in a sand trap, a golfer must be able to adapt to the situation on hand, the surroundings and the weather. With strong winds it is impossible to hit the ball with a 7.5 or a 12-degree lie angle club. When you are facing the wind a club with a smaller lie angle is advisable and vice versa. If you deviate from these rules you could end up with either a hook or a slice and the ball will not travel far.
Executing a proper golf swing is not easy. If it was, then every Tom, dick and Harry will be hitting a hole in one. That is the reason why professional golf players practice more than right hours a day. They know that the weather plays a very significant part in the game of golf and that there are also factors beyond their control.
Now that you know the theoretical aspects of the sport, all you have to do is to apply it to your game by practicing. If you still have a hard time getting the proper golf swing, get some training aids to help you.

Achieving The Proper Golf Swing

You need a lot of perseverance and practice to get that perfect and proper golf swing. The best way to do it would be to watch the way professional golfers execute their swings. The following tips, which if followed scrupulously, will have you winning tournaments in no time.
1. The force that gets the golf ball soaring does not come from the arm alone but by the use of the entire body, as will be attested by any professional golfer. If you have been using your arms, wrists and hands to swing at the ball, then it will be a little difficult to switch over to using your entire body. Practice using your entire body, with emphasis on your torso and legs. When you get the hang of it, you will find that the ball flies with more accuracy.
2. Your shoulders should pivot perfectly every time you execute a backswing. Keep your right arm parallel to your spine with your wrist flat. Ensure that you get this proper golf swing – your elbow and arms forming a triangle at the top of your swing. A guaranteed sure fire accurate hit.
3. There are two reasons why most amateur golfers fail to get that solid hit. In the first place, the swivelling of the wrist is delayed during the backswing resulting in the takeaway going too low to the ground. Next, assuming that this is the best way to power the shot, they swing the club too far during the backswing. This is a bad posture and giving attention to a few things will correct these mistakes. There should be a 45-degree angle between the shaft of the club and your arm, the left one. Keep your hands close to the ground during takeaway at the same time move the head of the club rapidly upwards. Did you ensure that your left arm was parallel to the ground and the shaft of the club at right angles to it? This should prevent a bad posture leading to a too far backswing and a reverse pivot.
4. Though it is tempting to practice indoors, chipping should be practised outdoors as golf is an outdoor game. The best way to perfect your chipping is to use a wooden rod or a busted club. Your left arm should remain hard as the club impacts; if not, the rod you are using will hit your left side. Practice makes perfect.
5. It is rare for a professional golfer to lose flex but at times are caught red-handed doing it when trying for distance. Success at golf will evade you if your swinging is inconsistent. Practice in front of a full-length mirror to get that proper golf swing. Look at the mirror every time you get into a posture – start-up and backswing. You can see any postural flaws in the mirror.
Faithfully following the above tips should show a marked improvement in your way to a proper golf swing.

Fundamentals Of A Proper Golf Swing

One of the games where a person’s determination and discipline can be seen is Golf. It is also a game where an individual’s heart can wholly be. While some see the game to be a boring activity, the avid players and watchers of the game will tell you that it is a great sport. If you are a novice, you have to learn to get a proper golf swing with some basic golf instructions.
While the basic principle and game play remain the same for everyone; the plethora of differences in the game that causes a puzzlement in the minds of most beginners is basically due to the dissimilarity in each player’s mentality and body postures. As such it is imperative for the beginner to understand and learn how to execute the perfect and proper golf swing. While the perfect golf swing does really exist, it is hard to pin down and varies from individual to individual. In addition to theoretical knowledge about the various aspects of the game, practice is the one and only activity that will bring about the proper golf swing. Once you have ingrained yourself with this proper golf swing, confidence in yourself and in the game automatically follow, with calmness, of course.
Basic Principles
If you want to see an immediate improvement in your swing, the fundamental principle is to keep your head still and your eyes squarely on the ball. This will straighten your spine and get a proper aim of the ball. This is absolutely necessary as the spine is the axis around which you are going to execute your swing, only then will you get to hit the ball properly. Your head should be kept straight, not tucked into your chest. When you are ready to take the swing, your shoulder should be under your chin. Keep everything straight then only will you get the perfect shot.
People who have consistent problems with their swing never keep their heads straight with their eyes on the ball. The next step is to adopt the correct position of the knees and the feet. At the instant when you commence the pivot, the feet should be firmly planted on the ground, the knees held straight, slightly bent forward and eyes on the ball. Keep the rotation of the hip to a minimum and do not swing too much to the back. Your chin should be practically but not really touching your left shoulder at the start of the swing.
Now slowly do your downswing with your eyes never off the ball. Do a practice swing or two before actually striking the ball. Practice your swing with a straight and still head, keeping an eye on the ball.
Posture and balance are the most essential points of a proper golf swing. This will lead to consistency and power. Remain relaxed inspite of all the straightness of the head and focus on the ball. If you tense up then your swing is bound to be bad. If you are relaxed, you will be balance and you will be able to flow with a smooth movement of the swing. Though it may seem difficult at first, continuous practice will definitely see you through the swing. Getting into the right position is all that matters.
Hold the position for a full fifteen seconds before you begin your swing. Keep your legs slightly spread out so as to get a good balance and your weight on both feet and relaxed.
These are the basic golf instructions and the only way to get a proper golf swing.

Additional Training For Your Muscles To Aid A Proper Golf Swing

The proper golf swing involves all the muscles in your body. This complicated pivotal movement put some thirty-two individual muscles into play. Like any other skill, constant repetition done properly will improve form and muscle. The avid golfer can, by repetition and additional exercises developed specifically to develop those muscle groups that are required to execute a proper golf swing, improve his swing and his overall game play.
The Components Of A Proper Golf Swing
The three components of a swing are the backswing, the downswing and the follow through. The backswing stretches those muscles required to execute the optimized downswing, for it is the power in the downswing that is going to drive the ball across the fairway. Once the ball is hit the follow through comes into play. This is to reduce the chances of any injury and to get the muscles back into shape for a rest.
The power for the shot in the downswing comes from three areas: the arms, the torso and the wrists. The force generated by the torso is mainly a conversion of a pivotal force around an axis. Its primary function is to build momentum. This needs a strong foundation and a stable axis. The hip joints and the spine are the pivotal points.
The arms generate the bulk of the propulsive power required to increase the velocity of the club. After all the power generated by the arms and the torso, one may think that the wrist plays an inconsequential part in the swing. But it is the wrist that guides that final stroke that channelizes the force to hit the ball dead centre.
The Muscle Groups That Perform The Swing
Each muscle group in the body contributes to the game of golf. It is the muscles of the chest, the back and the upper arms that generate the force of the downswing. This force is transmitted to the golf club by the speed built up during the downswing. The main movers are the pectorals, the deltoids and the teres-latissimus muscle groups of the chest, the shoulders and the back respectively. The muscles of the forearm and the wrist control the direction of the swing.
Strategies To Improve Power And Speed
The goal of additional training, other than for the swing, is for strengthening the core muscles and to improve the reflexes. Abdominal exercises and balance drills help stabilize form. Weight lifting is for strengthening the leg muscles, the upper back, the chest and the shoulders. Exercises to improve strength in the wrist are required for those who hardly do any manual work.
Isometric training is added to additional training to improve the reflexes. Fast muscle response is required to transfer the velocity of the swing to the ball with minimal contact time. As such supplemental training to improve speed of muscle response is essential. A judicious balance of strength and speed will show remarkable improvement in ones game of golf.

Fine Tuning To Gain A Proper Golf Swing

Learning how to get a proper golf swing with your club shouldn’t be too difficult with practice. A good way to go about it is to imagine that your spine is an axis of revolution and also keep a firm grip on your club. These are the techniques that golfers all over the world use. Though the swing may look similar, the differences are subtle and the proper golf swing differs from golfer to golfer. The similarity begins and ends in the above-mentioned principle. By patiently learning these principles and sticking to them, you should have no problem in driving your ball over long distances and getting nine-tenths of your strokes ending up right on the fairway.
Strangely, some people are of the impression that playing golf shortens their life span. But for the aficionados, it is a game of patience and a lot of hip, the physical hip. On a casual look, it seems that the game is nothing but hitting a ball for a distance and trying to get it into a hole. Many a hapless fellow has tried it with this mindset and has come away frustrated. But it does not have to be as bad as it seems.
Keep Practicing
The key element in playing golf is consistency. It boils down to the simple fact that if you cannot hit a ball the same way each and every time, your golfing is going to get a beating. Problems that arise out of inconsistency include slicing, short distance, hooks etc. Your form will improve only if you become consistent. And the only way to become consistent in golf is to train your body; and train it well with constant practice.
Keep Your Movements To The Minimum
Reduce unnecessary movements while swinging. Assume that you are conserving energy towards a greener earth and get focused on striking the ball instead of shuffling which can cause slicing and other mistakes. Move with the goal of hitting the ball. This should bring down your handicap substantially. As you practice you will start hitting par or better on every green. It all depends on practice.
Get Lessons
If you are really serious about your golf, the best thing to do is to get instructions in a class. Full-fledged classes have all the equipment and the instructors to instruct you in the basics of golfing. With determination, patience and of course, money you should be getting the proper golf swing in good time. Taking golf lessons requires a hefty fee and you should be earning a lot to get into a class. But if you do, you can learn a lot.
Bone Up On the Basics
Either you can read books on golfing or look it up on the Internet. Getting information on the Internet is easy but they can at times be quite confusing. There are many ways to strike the ball and even the best players differ over the best way to improve golf swing. It is left to you to find out the optimal swing technique that suits you to a “T”.
The proper golf swing to achieve the best result varies from individual to individual but the basics of the game play remain the same. Understand the basics of the game and practice till you get that proper golf swing. It may be frustrating at first but persistence and patience will finally reward you with that perfect flight of the ball.
